A while ago, a copy said about me: "I have been in this business for seven years and I have probably never met anyone as hard-working as her. With her there is no such a thing as missing a deadline, believe me. Taking masochistic pleasure in working long hours is not her only strength, though. She’s smart, fast and, into the bargain, she’s a nice person (I must have asked her to help me with one hundred fake ads and she’s never turned me down). Hiring her is also a money-saving device, as not only is she an art director but also an illustrator (with a worth-seeing portfolio to boot)."
So, thanking a lot Leonardo, I have to introduce myself through my path. My name is Carmelina Gioffrè since 1982. When I was young, even tough I was a widely good student, I was just interesting in drawing, and drawing and drawing. My favorite time spending in draw was when I created such ad advertising page because I loved so much drawing bottle of detergent, packaging of everything and create the magic union between written words and imagines. I understood pretty early I had to study for becoming an art director, when I discovered what this pair of words means - of course.
In 2003, I graduated from IED in Rome and had my first advertising-experience in Publicis, working on Rai and Renault. Then, I moved in Leagas Delaney where I knew Tim, Chilly and Goodyear. Finally, I arrived in McCann Erickson and lasted for six years. Until 2022, I worked at Yes I Am, a small creative agency in Rome. I am now a freelancer, and believe that my best project is my next project; so, my mind (and also my heart) is constantly working for searching new ideas and new opportunities.
