A while ago, a copywriter said about me: "I've been in this business for seven years and I’ve probably never met anyone as hard-working as her. With her, missing a deadline is impossible, believe me. But long hours aren’t her only strength—she’s smart, fast, and, on top of that, a genuinely nice person. I must have asked her to help with a hundred fake ads, and she never said no. Hiring her is also cost-effective: she’s both an art director and an illustrator, with a portfolio worth seeing." Thanks, Leonardo! Now, a little about me: my name is Carmelina Gioffrè, born in 1982. Even as a good student, I was obsessed with drawing. My favorite moments were spent creating ad pages: drawing detergent bottles, packaging, and crafting the magic connection between words and images. It didn’t take long for me to realize I wanted to become an art director.
In 2003, I graduated from IED Rome and started my first advertising experience at Publicis, working on Rai and Renault. I then moved to Leagas Delaney, where I worked on Tim, Chilly, and Goodyear. Later, I spent six years at McCann Erickson, and until 2022, I was at Yes I Am, a small creative agency in Rome.
I’m now a freelancer, and I believe my best project is always the next one. My mind—and my heart—are constantly seeking new ideas and opportunities.
